Serious Injury Lawyer

Ambulances at Hospital Emergency Entrance

Over the years of reviewing and prosecuting thousands of personal injury claims, one of the many significant truths that we’ve seen expressed time and again is this: A person who suffers a traumatic injury should consult with a New York injury lawyer as soon as possible. While it may not seem obvious, someone may be responsible for the harm suffered by the victim. Delay increases the risk that the victim will be unable to make a money recovery. Delay can mean that there will not be any money payment for past and future medical expenses, lost earnings, pain & suffering and other damages suffered by the accident victim.

Don’t wait until it is too late to speak with a member of our team of New York Injury Lawyers

While the “Practice Areas” section of our site offers a brief overview of the types of cases where we help accident injury victims, we urge you not to use the information provided on this or on any other website to “diagnose” or evaluate your own potential injury claim. Far too often, our firm has been contacted by people who called too late. We’ve heard people say:

” I never called a New York injury lawyer about my accident before now because I thought I had a lot more time to start a case”;

” I have been in terrible pain for quite a long time now, but I have not had necessary medical treatment because I thought it would just go away”;

” I never pursued the matter because the ( landlord, other driver, medically negligent practitioner, etc.,) said they would pay my bills caused by what they did, and now they won’t even return my phone calls”;

” I am not a person who ‘likes to sue people’, but I never realized that I would have so many bills for my treatment / that my medical condition was going to take so long to improve / that I would be unable to return to work, etc.”;

” The (other driver’s or landlord’s or store’s) insurance company said I didn’t need a New York injury lawyer, that it would just cost me money I didn’t need to spend and that they would “take care of everything”. Now they are offering me an insultingly low amount of money to get rid of me”;

” I didn’t think I could afford a New York injury lawyer to help me”;

To avoid such awful situations, you are invited to call our firm for a free consultation. Your questions will be answered and your concerns will be addressed.

It is our intention and hope that with a simple toll free phone call to our office, you will be spared the hardships faced by those with serious personal injuries who wait too long to speak with an attorney; those who wait until it is too late to get what they may have been entitled to.

The information provided throughout the various “Practice Areas” sections is intended to be illustrative of the variety of accident case types we are prepared to assist injured victims with.

While we hope the information provided about different case types is helpful, the most important “take away” message that we hope you will keep with you is this: We are available to consult with any person who has been seriously hurt. We will conduct a thorough analysis to evaluate legal liability and the availability of insurance coverage and/or assets which can be reached by a judgment against the responsible person(s).

So, the intent of this “Other Serious Injuries” page is to convey that simple idea. If you or a loved one are seriously hurt, please call us at once. Knowing that the circumstances of any serious injury should be reviewed by a qualified attorney is much simpler than trying to remember an exhaustive list of case types. Especially since, over the years we have seen that accidents can happen in an infinite number of ways. These include, but are not at all limited to the following examples:

Slip and fall accidents on snow and ice or on a “foreign substance” such as water or any other liquid, grease or slippery substance. These can happen on public or private sidewalks, driveways, apartment or commercial building entrances or exits, hallways or stairways, shopping center and office parking lots, store aisles and elsewhere;

Trip and fall accidents on defective sidewalks, walkways, steps and stairways or over a visually obscured object in a store aisle, a home, a factory, a warehouse or elsewhere.

Dog bites;

Injury resulting from misuse of a common instrument or of an inherently dangerous instrument;

Lead paint poisoning;

Severe food poisoning, such as e-coli;

Aviation disasters;

Boating accidents.

We once represented a young man who struck a match and was instantly engulfed in flame. He suffered terrible burns over practically his entire body. We successfully prosecuted a claim against the owner of the vacant property where the accident took place, claiming he actually knew or that in the exercise of reasonable care should have known that the teens that frequented the area as a “hangout” had left a propane tank there for barbecues, negligently exposing our client to a dangerous condition that was foreseeable.

The case did not present as a “propane tank explosion” case. Initially, the client’s mother called us for help because her son had been badly burned. We used the proper methods to investigate and prosecute that particular case, which is what we do on every serious injury case that we take on. It is always our intention to help the injury victim put their life back together and go on as best they can.

There are so many potential “Other Serious Injuries” ! Some of the best counsel we can offer is to repeat the advice in the opening paragraph at the top of this page. A person who suffers a traumatic injury should consult with a New York personal injury lawyer as soon as possible. If you have questions or concerns about an injury claim, you are welcome to contact us.
